GTA 5 Online: Top 10 Mistakes Players Make

Grand Theft Auto 5 Online is finally here. Just like the game's one-player mode, there's a bunch of stuff to do and a lot to absorb. Here, we give you 10 things to avoid at the beginning.

10.) Driving Like a Maniac

Sure, it's a joy to drive fast and perform stunts. Doing so can increase your driving ability, but that's not to say it doesn't have some drawbacks. Driving like a lunatic can draw a lot of attention. You might get off on the wrong foot with other players and they may judge you for your driving methods (thus, losing your rep). It also makes cops very angry, and can create a huge distraction if you're currently involved in an event. Vehicles lose value if you deliver them to Simeon in bad condition. Above all else, it can hurt your character and even worse, result in death. Death is the worst punishment because you'll have to steal your car back (and deal with the police), or pay an $800-insurance fee to get it back each time. That is a lot of money to waste and will drain your account quickly. Unless there's an emergency or you're attempting to escape a situation, take your time and drive safe.
9.) Turning Your Back on Someone

Finding people you can trust is essential when playing GTA Online. It's not smart to hang with the wrong people.  Completing missions with others can win you decent cash and rank points, but players always have the option to rob each other before or after a job session ends. Either defend yourself immediately or get away in a vehicle pronto if they're nearby. Additionally, keep an eye on cashiers when fleeing a store robbery – some carry a firearm.
8.) Playing Without a Headset

If you don't have a headset for your console, we strongly recommend getting one. Besides a store robbery going more smoothly, communication is vital in GTA Online. You'll want to make friends and chat together without the hassle of texting each other. Most importantly, many players tend to use their mics, so eavesdropping can give you an understanding of what's happening in the session and help you figure out what other player's intentions are.
7.) Pretending You Know Everything Right Away

As we stated above, you'll want to take your best skills and use them in proper scenarios. That said, dig your teeth in multiple activities and try several match types, then get accustomed to them. If Team Deathmatch is your thing, give all the maps a try; this way you can familiarize yourself with the levels, locate special items and know what you're getting into. That way, you'll develop more confidence and bet some money on matches. Remember, practice makes perfect.
6.) Competing in Activities You're Not Good at

Everyone has different tastes for activities and many of their skills are diverse. Are you good at driving? Participate in a race and make players eat your dust. Not too shabby at Tennis? Head to a tennis court and face off with another player. The sky is literally the limit in GTA Online; you have numerous activities you can partake in that can earn you cash and RP (rank points), or to boost up your skills. However, you may come up short with parachuting or flying. In this case, try not to involve yourself in a flying scenario or competitions. Invest your time with what you're good at and you'll rank up faster.
5.) Blowing Your Money on Unneeded Items

It's important to spend your earnings on things you need first (check the What to Buy tips for more details). You'll need to save a decent amount of money to be successful online, and wasting it on expensive clothes or outrageous cars is a big risk considering most things are open for other players to steal. Think of what you need – not what you want.
4.) Stealing a Car and Forgetting to Repaint

If you plan to keep a stolen vehicle, we recommend changing its paint color. Cops are smart in GTA Online and can smell a crook a mile away. Although police chases are inevitable, some missions require you to get a paint job at mod shops, and you'll want to avoid cops at all costs when roaming the streets. The fee is usually small for a repaint. This will keep you off the radar.
3.) Wandering on Foot

Unless you're trying to build stamina, traveling around Los Santos without a car is the least safe approach. You will be a sitting duck to other players; they can easily run you over or snipe you from the distance. Not only that, but it's rather impossible to shake off the police with just your legs. If your personal car isn't around, steal one.
2.) Pausing the Game – Enter Passive Mode Instead

Say you have to go to the bathroom while playing GTA Online. We don't want you to hold it, but pausing the game doesn't stop your online play. Players can still interact with you while you're on the john, leaving you extremely vulnerable. Luckily, you have the option to enable Passive Mode for a $100 fee. Passive Mode prevents any physical damage to you while on foot. You must not be in a vehicle, as other players can damage both you and your car. This is also a good time to stash some dough on your phone or enjoy the map's scenery. Be advised, though – you cannot fire weapons in this state.
1.) Carrying Large Amounts of Money

Earning money equals success in Grand Theft Auto Online. Players are hungry and greedy; many will attempt to kill you on first sight and take your hard-earned cash. As soon as you make some bucks from a job or mission, isolate yourself from other players, make sure the coast is clear, then whip-out your phone and select the "Money and Services" tab. From there, you can access your bank account under the Maze Bank app and secure (or withdraw) your earnings.

GTA 5: Fastest Way to Make $270,000/hr Legit in GTA Online

A discerning GTA 5 gamer, youtubedude, has revealed a legit way of making millions of $GTA in GTA Online, without using cheats or glitches that could easily land you into cheaters lobby by Rockstar.
Many of you might have been wondering what is the quickest yet risk free or legitimate way of making fast money in GTA 5 Online. You just need to play a few quick one lap races with crew members and one random player online to earn roughly $270,000 per hour.
Here is what you need to do:
  • Just pick up a random bike race shown in the map, exactly near the bridge (watch the video below for more assistance). The race is known as "Down the Drain".
  • Tip #1: You can either bookmark the race or fast travel to the location, if you want to make multiple attempts at finishing the race first. Finishing first every time is essential to earn maximum returns at the end of each race.
  • You just have to invest $500 as the entry fee to begin this race. Just hit X or Square button to start the race.
  • Don't worry if the default race chosen by some player happens to be a super car race. Just let the race finish and it does not matter even if you lose this one.
  • Now once you exit the race or back out of the race, you will get to be the host for the next race and you can set the rules to your strength.
  • Just watch the video below and setup the recommended settings for a motorcycle race with four crew members and at least one random player online.
  • Tip #2: Choosing only friends or crew members will fetch you lesser money than having a few random players on the race.
  • Tip #3: Make sure to turn off the traffic, wanted levels and custom vehicles for a level-headed race and to improve your chances of winning.
  • Tip #4: Try choosing a single lap, as it is the fastest way to make more money. The payouts for finishing first will be same no matter how many laps you choose to race.
  • With non-crew members in the race, you stand a chance to earn at least $1000 more, and more reputation points.
There are some important tricks that you need to employ, if you want to be successful at winning all the bike races. Here is what you should do:
  • For starters, do not hit the accelerate button until half-a-second after the "Go" signal appears on screen. This should give your bike an instant boost.
  • Try cutting corners short whenever possible to save on time and keep drafting (similar to slipstreaming) behind the frontrunner initially, before taking off in the final moments of the race.

How to Get Followers on Instagram

Instagram is an app for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android, and Windows Phone that allows users to share and upload photos within the Instagram community or across social networks. To get followers on Instagram, try the following tips and techniques!

Look at a variety of pages. Just as you shouldn't jump into a conversation you haven't been listening to, you shouldn't start uploading photos and expecting followers without first getting a sense of what the community values. Listed under the "Popular" tab, you can check out what popular users are posting on Instagram and use their shots for inspiration.

Follow “Suggested Users” by selecting “Find Friends” > ”Suggested Users”. Following users that have similar interests to you may encourage them to follow you in return.

Search hashtags or users for the kinds of pictures you're interested in. Like basketball? Look up your favorite player. Big fan of local punk rock? Check out the feeds of some bands in your city.

Search for users with similar interests. If you're a jewelry maker, search through the hashtags for jewelry buzzwords. If you're a big hiker, search for pics of someone's latest trail conquest.

Pay attention to what kinds of photos these users post. What seem to be the most popular?

Follow your favorites. In general, if you are posting photos that users find valuable, they will quickly follow you and encourage others to do the same. Following a few people with intent is more effective (not to mention far less obvious) than playing a numbers game. Following too many people will also make your feed overloaded and difficult to digest.

Comment on the photos that you enjoy. When you feel like you've got a sense of the way Instagram works, start leaving comments on pictures that inspire you. Spreading feelings of goodwill is a great way to increase your own base of followers.
  • Getting your name on pages you admire is both a good way to get that person to follow you, and other fans of that user, especially if post similar pictures.
  • Say something of substance. Emoticons or "Nice pic!" don't go as far in getting you noticed as do honesty and sincerity.
Find and invite your friends to join. This can be done from within the @(YourAccountName) settings tab on the far right. Users like to follow users who have a lot of followers. This is why it can be difficult to gain followers early on. Getting friends from other social networks to follow your Instagram account is crucial for building an initial follower base.

Click the “Find friends” button to add friends from your Facebook, Twitter, or address book, or simply search for usernames and names of people you know that may be using Instagram.

Tap the “From my contact list” button to select contacts from your address book and send them an email invite to join Instagram.

5 Ways to Make Your Non-Rooted Android Phone Run Faster

The major difference between an iPhone and an Android is that iOS is meant to work on specific device(s) and it was developed keeping in mind a particular hardware configuration. Android, on the other hand, was developed for many devices that do not share a standard hardware specification. It’s like the Windows of smartphones.
There are some Android phones that run on few hundred megahertz with a handful of internal memory while there are beasts like HTC One X that run on a multi-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. Due to these reasons, performance of Android phones differ and thus some appear slow when compared to others.
Even though the performance issue is mainly related to the device hardware configuration, there are few things you can do on the software front which can reduce the pressure on the device hardware making it considerably faster. So let’s have a look at these tips.

Note: The following tips are for non-rooted Android phones. If you don’t understand what “non-rooted” means, this post is for you. This post is also for those who don’t want to root their phones just to make it run faster, and are looking for easier workarounds. If have a rooted phone, we will have another such post tomorrow, so keep an eye.

1. Disable Screen Animation and Live Wallpaper

You need to be sure what you want with your device – performance or appearance. Both never walk hand in hand, not if your phone isn’t high end. If you are looking for a superior performance, you should disable all the Live wallpapers (if at all you are using them) and the screen animation that gives fading effect to your menus and unlock animation.

Android Live Wallpaper

Selecting common image wallpapers over a live wallpaper is easy. To disable the screen animation, ICS users should navigate to Developer options in the settings while other users should disable it from Display—>Animations.

2. Install Apps on Need to Use Basis

Even though Android Play Store is a home to millions of free applications, it is recommended that you only download and install the apps that you need. Apps on Android are installed in a special memory called the ROM, which is usually limited in storage space.
Thus if you populate it with unnecessary apps, it will only reduce the consistency of the memory and make it slow. One of the best practices one can follow is that he installs only basic apps on his ROM and creates backup files of once-in-a-while apps as APK on the SD card using tools like Astro.

Later, when you require a particular app out of the blue, you can install the app using the APK file and perform the operation.

3. Disable High-Speed Data and Background Sync

Both the features – high-speed data connectivity and background syncing – make a device comparatively slow and drain its juice. You could install power control widgets on your desktop and control the high-speed internet and background syncing right from the desktop.
Quick Settings Widgets
Switch on these features only when you require them and when the work’s done, disable them. This trick will not only make your device faster but also help your battery to last longer.

4. Use Apps to Free Up the RAM

Once you launch an app on Android it remains in the memory until it’s killed. Although some people say that killing applications on Android is not a healthy habit, I believe that killing only the ones that are bloating up the memory is a good thing to do.
Booster for Adnroid
NQ Android Booster is one such app that acts as a task killer for your Android and increases the device’s free memory. And I don’t need to tell you the fact that performance is directly proportional to the amount of free RAM on a device.

5. Keep your Home Screen Clean

Last but not the least, always try to keep your home screen clean. Widgets are not a fancy item. They are there to solve a specific purpose. Thus use only what you require and reduce the number of home screen panels that contain icons and widgets.

Conclusion

I consider myself an experienced and geeky Android user, and the above tips were the best that struck me among all such methods. But if you think that I have missed an important point, please talk about them in the comments section. And those among you who’ve already rooted their phones, we’ll publish a post tomorrow to show you how can get rid of the terrible slowness of your phone.
